Rick Croy

Rick Croy has led California Baptist University’s most visible program for 12 seasons and counting, and during that time has only had one losing season, guiding the Lancers through their transition from Division II to Division I and from their membership in the Western Athletic Conference into the Big West beginning with the 2026-’27 season.

Rick is the winningest coach in CBU history with a 269-137 record. During the 2023-’24 season, he became the youngest active coach in NCAA history to accumulate 350 wins.

Since moving to the WAC, the Lancers have qualified for the conference tournament each of the last six consecutive seasons. Rick was named the WAC Coach of the Year and in 2022, the same year CBU received and accepted its first postseason invitation.

Prior to his work at CBU, Rick served two stints as an assistant under John Masi at UC Riverside. He also was the head coach at Citrus College, posting an 130-35 record over five seasons and winning the 2010 California Community College Athletic Association state championship.
