Tom Craft

Tom Craft took charge of the of the Riverside City College football program in 2010, becoming the Tigers’ 18th head coach and has become the winningest head football coach in RCC history. He boasts a 146-22 overall record (86.9 winning percentage) with the Tigers and has seen over 300 of his student-athletes transfer to the four-year level. He was named the Regional Coach of the Year six times, California State Coach of the Year five times and the National Community College Coach of the Year by the AFCA two times.

Since taking over a program that finished 1-9 in 2009, Craft has built one of the premier programs locally, regionally, statewide and nationally. During his time with RCC, Craft led his teams to two overall undefeated seasons in 2011 and 2019 and two regular season undefeated records in 2018 and 2022. His 2019 team led the Tigers to their first National Championship in 30 years. Craft has coached his RCC teams to 12 conference titles and 14 consecutive postseason games. Additionally, he has coached the Tigers to 10 straight state playoff appearances and 2 California Community College Athletic Association State Championships. Craft has coached eleven Riverside City College offensive and defensive players who have been named to the First-Team All-American honors.

Over his career, Craft has won more conference titles (21) faster than any community college coach and he is tied for the most State Championships after helping three different programs to State titles: three with Palomar (1991, 1993, 1998), one with Mt. San Antonio College (2009) and two with Riverside (2019, 2023).

Following the 2024 season, Tom announced his retirement to close out a historic 30-year run at the junior college level. He finishes his career with a 261-78-1 record – the best record of any two-year college football coach.
